Indie-bluegrass trio Eugene Tyler Band is, at their core, a road band, who’ve spent years cutting their teeth on the bluegrass festival circuit and clubs across the northeast. Their newest record, Low It Goes, captures the free-wheeling intensity of those live shows and showcases the cathartic, irreverent songwriting that has won them fans all over the country. As songwriter Eugene Gardner says, “You learn a lot about yourself as a band when you’re playing 3 hours a night, and it’s forced us to step up our game in a way that I’m really proud of.” Sharing stages with bands like Billy Strings, the Kitchen Dwellers, Driftwood, and the Mountain Grass Unit, ETB has carved out a unique voice in the bluegrass scene, with cutting, often humorous songs, and a fast & loose approach that calls back to influences like the Clash and Drive-By Truckers.
Born and raised in northwest Georgia and making his home in the musical oasis of Athens, Cannon Rogers is the product of the generational sea change in the South. Acutely concerned with his place in post-modern America as an individual and an artist, Rogers holds a degree in American Literature from the University of Georgia where he studied William Faulkner and Southern literature extensively while immersing himself in the Athens,GA
music scene. As inspired by Flannery O’Connor as he is Lucinda Williams, Rogers works to weave the music and art that he loves into the stories he tells from dive bar stages across the country. His first release, “Abel’s Blues” is steeped in the modern southern gothic tradition: there are drunk drivers, traveling dealers, generational traumas and evangelical worldviews all wrapped into one tongue-in-cheek honky tonkin’ tune.
lighthearted” is an indie-folk band from Athens, Georgia fronted by twin sisters Gracie Huffman and Eliza Lemmon. They write the “type of hushed, kaleidoscopic songs that appeal to anyone that takes to gorgeous harmonies and plumbing the depths of human nature” (Ethan Fogus of Immersive Atlanta). Since its release, their debut album “from here on out,” (Apr 2023) has accrued 1.3 million streams on Spotify alone. Operating independently, lighthearted has played to crowds across the country, both of their own and opening for acts such as hey, nothing, Johnnyswim, Hans Williams, Briscoe, Sarah Kinsley, Family and Friends, etc.
