Jackson Whalan is a recording artist and producer from Western Massachusetts who creates music to uplift and inspire listeners worldwide. He is known for his high-impact rapping, music production, and live performance. Recent collaborations include working with Hip Hop legend KRS-One and touring throughout the United States as direct support for the band Moon Hooch. He has been consistently releasing music, including LPs, EPs, singles, and features, and his songs have gotten placements in All American (Netflix), Xfinity, Reebok, Champs, and more.Jackson was born and raised in Berkshire County, on the western edge of Massachusetts. There were very few examples of hip-hop artists from his rural hometown, but the music made its way into his life when he found CDs that belonged to his older brother. Inspired at age 11 by artists like De La Soul, The Fugees, Eminem, and Nas, Jackson forged a path not previously traveled by anyone from The Berkshires.
When Jackson discovered the power of hip-hop, things were turbulent at home, at school, and in the world. He was waking up to issues of race, class, politics, human rights, and climate change. His music became the vehicle for addressing injustice and inspiring people to make a difference.Jackson’s live show is full of thought-provoking songs, beats, and live instrumentation. The highlight is often when Jackson freestyle-raps topics from the crowd, which makes for an unforgettable experience.
Qwill is the solo project of Salem MA based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Jesse Joseph. His music primarily draws from folk, soul, and blues, often weaving electronic elements and lush textures into his sound to create music with a heartbeat.
