A Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam tradition! Each year, from September through December, our slam poets compete to qualify for the Most Valuable Poet (MVP) Slam events, which take place every January. Sixteen Poets qualify for the two semi-final slam events, followed by the MVP Finals.
The first MVP Semifinal Slam participants are: Art Collins, Christopher Johnson, Carol Johnson, Navah the Buddaphliii, Mr. Orange Live, Mike Savadian, Toni Blue Rose, and Tru Kwene.
These slams are super-popular and always showcase phenomenal spoken word talent. The top four poets from tonight and the top four from the second semifinal will move on to the finals on 1/25/26.
