Lonesome, On’ry, and Dead is a project devoted to the Country and Americana pages of the Grateful Dead songbook. While drawing heavily from the songs and albums of the early 70s, the band also explores the what ifs. What if Garcia/Hunter had continued writing where “To Lay Me Down” left off? What if Garcia had stuck with the Pedal Steel over the Mu-Tron? What would the latter day compositions have sounded like arranged by their younger selves?
Lonesome, On’ry and Dead play to answer these questions and more as they dream up a parallel universe.
