SUMMARY:Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam-William James
DESCRIPTION:The Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam with featured poet William James Nov 2nd!\n\n\n$10 \nWilliam James (Bill Stambaugh) has been writing since his college days. A performer at heart \, he was pulled to the stage at an early age and has never looked back . He is an actor\, director\, teacher and coach that preaches self confidence in his guidance to poets and actors who want to elevate to the next level. As the dark days of Covid-19 were finally fading \, he wandered into the theatre his wife was president of and watched a group of poets begin rehearsing for a presentation they were getting ready for \, offered to assist in their ‘organization’ of the presentation … and he has been religiously following them ever since. Now \, 3 years after his first evening at the Lizard Lounge \, he is a timekeeper / scorekeeper as well as a co host ( and part-time LL Slam Team coach ) for the Sunday evening festivities each week\, and he could not be happier or prouder to be a part of such an amazing community. He is humbled to be surrounded by such talent\, and he owes a huge thank you to these artists\, truly all of them \, for bringing him into such an amazing circle…. \nLizard Lounge Poetry Jam

SUMMARY:Ken Yates & Liv Greene At The Lizard Lounge
DESCRIPTION:Ken Yates live at the Lizard Lounge in support of his latest release “Total Cinema” Nov 20th at 8pm with special guest Liv Greene!\n\n\nKen Yates is an award-winning singer-songwriter known for his introspective storytelling and his signature blend of folk\, indie\, and rock influences. His latest album\, Total Cinema (2025)\, marks a defining evolution in his sound. Working with producer Dan Ledwell in Halifax\, Yates explores themes of gratitude and self-awareness with characteristic precision and emotional depth. \nHis new music has already captured critical attention\, with NPR’s Ann Powers declaring\, “I’m obsessed with this song by Canadian troubadour Ken Yates\, ‘Cataclysmic End\,’”\, while Atwood Magazine declared the new music a “bright\, cathartic reckoning.” Total Cinema features eleven tracks that showcase an artist who has found clarity in his creative vision\, embracing both the shadows and light of human experience. \nTotal Cinema follows Yates’ 2022 album\, Cerulean\, which earned him a Contemporary Album of the Year nomination at the Canadian Folk Music Awards. Recently selected as an Official Showcasing Artist at SXSW and Americanafest 2024\, Yates continues to grow his audience\, opening for artists including Madison Cunningham\, Passenger\, and Kathleen Edwards\, and collaborating with respected songwriters Trousdale\, Katie Pruitt\, Tiny Habits\, and Lori McKenna. With the release of his new album\, Yates continues to assert his place as one of the most incisive voices in rising indie music. \nKen Yates \n\n\nLiv Greene is an Americana singer/songwriter\, producer\, and guitarist based in Nashville\, TN\, whose music “envelops a forlorn loneliness that’s at once poignant and crushing.” – American Songwriter. Deep Feeler\, her sophomore album\, is a reckoning with reality\, a vulnerable snapshot of hard-won self-acceptance. It’s feminine\, queer\, and defiant. It also heralds the arrival of Greene as a powerful new voice who joins the songwriting tradition of Emmylou\, Patty\, Gillian\, and Lucinda – in her own way. Greene self-produced and recorded Deep Feeler primarily live to tape in Nashville’s Woodland Sound Studios\, with collaborator Matt Andrews (Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings\, O Brother Where Art Thou) and a dreamy band of friends including Jack Schneider\, Sarah Jarosz\, Dom Billett\, Elise Leavy\, Jordan Tice\, and Christian Sedelmeyer. The resulting collection of lilting melodies and poignant storytelling is a bold achievement: a piece of art that matters culturally\, musically\, and personally. Greene is also a passionate educator\, with experience teaching songwriting and guitar in private lesson settings\, online classes\, and group instruction through the Passim School of Music in Cambridge\, MA\, and at Interlochen Arts Camp in Northern Michigan. \nLiv Greene

SUMMARY:Daniel Miller & The High Life/Jon Nolan & Good Co
DESCRIPTION:Daniel Miller & The High Life live at the Lizard Lounge November 21st with Jon Nolan & Good Co!\n\n\n$20/$25 Door \nDoors 7 \nDaniel Miller is a singer-songwriter with a penchant for centering his music on locales that inspire him. “My goal is to take a region that I love and write songs about that place. My focus isn’t on limiting a record to fit into a specific bin on a store shelf; it’s to tell a story.” Born and raised in Knoxville\, TN and currently living outside of Boston\, MA\, Daniel has been writing songs based off of his experiences on the road for the past twenty years. Those songs have provided Daniel and his country-rock touring band\, The High Life\, the opportunity to open for various national touring acts in some of America’s most beloved performance venues. \n \nDaniel Miller and the High Life \n\n\nJon Nolan is an internationally touring musician and producer from the mill town of Newmarket\, NH\, currently on tour in support of his third album\, Slow Cooker (Strolling Bones / New West). The record landed on both WBUR Boston and NPR’s All Songs Considered “Best of” Fall lists. Still fronting New England alt-country stalwarts Say ZuZu (also on Strolling Bones / New West)\, Nolan’s work with his backing band Good Co. explores the dreamier\, pop-infused edges of his Americana sensibility. \n“Nolan is a storyteller with an uncanny talent for capturing the voices and plights of everyday folks.”— Nick Graziano \n \nJon Nolan

SUMMARY:Tarbox Ramblers
DESCRIPTION:The legendary Tarbox Ramblers original lineup live at the Lizard Lounge Nov 22nd at 8!\n\n\n$20 adv/$25 door \nDoors 7 \n \nThe Tarbox Ramblers’ sound is rooted in hillbilly music\, backwater blues and early rock ‘n’ roll. It’s rough-hewn\, dark and joyous\, and unfailingly direct. Previewing the band’s no-holds-barred live show\, The New Yorker said “Between the fiddle\, string bass\, drums and slide guitar\, you won’t know what hit you.” \nLed by songwriter Michael Tarbox\, the group also features violinist Daniel Kellar and the hard-hitting rhythm section of string-bassist Johnny Sciascia and drummer Jon Cohan. Kellar’s mesmerizing solos\, and Tarbox’s barbed-wire guitar\, give the band its edge. The combination of Sciascia’s percussive rockabilly style and Cohan’s New Orleans parade drums is its secret sauce. \nThe Tarbox Ramblers have released two albums on the Rounder label\, played clubs and festivals throughout The US and Canada\, and worked with heroes like Robert Plant\, Allison Krauss and legendary producer Jim Dickinson. \nTarbox Ramblers

DESCRIPTION:The Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam with featured poet Wallace Coar Nov 23rd!\n\n\n$10 \nWallace Coar is a poet and seasoned performer whose work speaks to love\, loss\, and the resilience of the human spirit. A former member of the Lizard Lounge Slam Team\, his voice has long carried both tenderness and fire\, illuminating love and struggle while reaching toward connection. After the heartbreaking loss of his son\, Wallace stepped away from the stage for five years of silence and reflection. Now\, with his first feature since that time\, he returns with new\, never-before-heard work that is deeply personal and profoundly alive. SUMMARY:TrueVines & The ExPats Thanksgiving Eve Spectacular!
DESCRIPTION:TrueVines and The ExPats rock the Lizard Lounge Thanksgiving Eve Nov 26th\n\n\nTrueVines is a Boston-based band blending ’60s British influences with a raw American vibe. Fronted by legendary songwriter Dennis Brennan\, this powerhouse lineup features guitarist Andrew Stern\, bassist Jim Haggerty\, and drummer Chris Anzalone—all veterans of the local and national music scene. Originally a side project born during the pandemic\, TrueVines has evolved into Brennan’s primary creative outlet\, embracing a rougher\, high-energy sound steeped in garage rock and soul. \nTheir forthcoming six-song release captures the band’s unique chemistry: quick\, raunchy originals that channel the raw spirit of the ’60s\, soulful struts\, and even a nod to their rootsy side with a country ballad. With shout-along choruses\, swaggering guitars\, and an unapologetic sense of fun\, TrueVines proves that rock and roll is still very much alive. \nGuitarist Andrew Stern\, originally from Illinois\, honed his craft in Boston after stints in California and New York’s vibrant music scenes. He has worked across a range of styles with artists like Dennis Brennan\, Mark Erelli\, and Brian Carpenter and leads several projects\, including his adventurous trio\, AS3. Stern’s versatile and inventive guitar work is a cornerstone of TrueVines’ sound. \nBassist Jim Haggerty and drummer Chris Anzalone bring decades of experience as first-call studio musicians and live performers. Known for their dynamic and impeccable musicianship\, they form the backbone of TrueVines\, driving its raw and electric energy. \nDescribed by Mod Magazine as “still in the attic or the garage\, and loving every second of it\,” TrueVines captures the freedom and vitality of a band playing for the sheer joy of it. \n \nTrueVines \n\n\n\nThe ExPats are Pat Faherty (Guitar)\, Jim Haggerty (bass) and Chris Anzalone (drums) playing garage classics!

SUMMARY:Four Piece Suit/Le Prestige
DESCRIPTION:Le Prestige and Four Piece Suit converge for a show at the Lizard Lounge November 28th!\n\n\nFour Piece Suit is “a highball of sea-foam-soaked guitar and squalling tenor sax\, shaken—not stirred—with surf tangos\, Battista-era mambos\, beach blanket boppers\, spy music\, crime jazz\, and movie themes.” The predominantly instrumental group brings humor\, romance and a pulsing rhythm to the category-defying range musical styles they reinvent. Heard on soundtracks for Sex and the City and Dexter\, Four Piece Suit puts on a sizzling live show. \nThe band is: Milt Reder on guitar\, John Aruda on sax\, Dean Cassell on bass and Seth Pappas on drums. For more on 4PS\, please visit www.fourpiecesuit.com. Truly beyond category\, their eclectic instrumental\, sometimes jazz\, sometimes rock style\, brings forth a unique blend of long forgotten musical influences and often suggests a certain film noir feeling. \nThe sexy\, sophisticated\, yet tongue-in-cheek music of FOUR PIECE SUIT is frequently featured on the highly acclaimed HBO series Sex and the City\, Telemundo\, NBC’s Ed\, Dexter on CBS\, and cable shows such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians\, America’s Top Model\, Run’s House\, and many others. Film work includes Our Lips are Sealed (Olsen Twins)\, In the Weeds (Molly Ringwald)\, Stag (HBO films)\, Psycho Beach Party\, Along Came Polly (Jennifer Aniston)\, and others. \nThe band has also been heard in many independent films\, including Sundance Festival Winner Blue Vinyl. They have also done a full score for an HBO claymation film\, Real Men Wear Hawaiian Shirts\, an award winner at the San Francisco Film Festival. \nFour Piece Suit have released three CDs: Ready to Where?\, Matinee Idylls\, and Spirito\, available on itunes and CDbaby.com. Even as their CDs and film work introduce them to new audiences\, it is the “uncharted waters” of their live performances which create the word-of-mouth that brings in legions of loyal fans. From the Fillmore in SF to the Windows on the World Bar at the NY World Trade Center\, they have played to crowds of 50 to 50\,000. A hot 4PS show at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge is like seeing Louis Prima’s band at the Copa in 1958\, walls sweating\, booties shaking\, and a half a grin on the face. \nLike many of the greatest bands\, only at a live show can one really “get” what FOUR PIECE SUIT is all about… \nhttps://fourpiecesuitband.com \n\n\nLe Prestige is a Somerville based 9-piece instrumental and improvisational music group. Their original songs are primarily influenced by the spirit of 60’s soul jazz and the big beats and loops of 90’s hip-hop and electronica. Taking an organic and low-tech approach to these sounds\, the tunes feature horn-driven melodies and expressive soloing over funk\, jazz\, reggae and disco grooves. They also never miss a chance to play “Wichita Lineman”. \nFor this show the band will consist of Chris Forkey on bass\, John Glenshaw on drums\, Gary Wallen on vibraphone\, Charles Murrell on alto sax and flute\, Kit Buckley on tenor sax\, Dana Colley on baritone sax\, newest Prestige Ian Ayers on guitar and special guest Elizabeth Steen on accordion. \nLe Prestige
