SUMMARY:Use the Force/Carboy
DESCRIPTION:Use The Force reimagines classic film themes with funky grooves\, rich jazz harmony\, and explosive solos. Carboy brings funk/soul all night!\n\n\n$15/$20 door \nDoors 7 \nUse the Force boldly reimagines classic movie themes with funky grooves\, jazzy harmony\, and epic solos\, inspired by the epic music of John Williams\, but also featuring the music of other composers for cinema and television. Think Harry Potter wallowing in butterbeer in New Orleans and Darth Vader busting out the head spins at a dance party. \nThough this juxtaposition sounds downright silly\, the band is serious about their music. This accomplished quintet draws upon their deep reservoir of musical skills to transform cinematic masterpieces through the prism of groovy\, soulful funky-jazz fusion. \nWith Rick Stone (sax)\, Nick Grondin (guitar)\, Sean Farius (bass)\, Giuseppe Paradiso (drums). \nUse The Force

SUMMARY:Charlie Marie "Signs" Album Release with Daniel Miller and the High Life
DESCRIPTION:Join us June 5th for the release of Charlie Marie’s latest album “Signs” with Daniel Miller and the High Life!\n\n\n$20/$25 Door \nDoors 7 \nCharlie’s latest full-length album Signs\, out June 5\, is about her epic journey of self-discovery following profound loss. Embarking on a spontaneous journey across the US from Rhode Island to Alaska and back again\, the songs reflect both the trials and tribulations she encountered and the signs she learned to recognize along her path\, guiding and sometimes redirecting her to the truths she learned and answers she sought. \nCharle Marie \n \n\n\nDaniel Miller is a singer-songwriter with a penchant for centering his music on locales that inspire him. “My goal is to take a region that I love and write songs about that place. My focus isn’t on limiting a record to fit into a specific bin on a store shelf; it’s to tell a story.” Born and raised in Knoxville\, TN and currently living outside of Boston\, MA\, Daniel has been writing songs based off of his experiences on the road for the past twenty years. Those songs have provided Daniel and his country-rock touring band\, The High Life\, the opportunity to open for various national touring acts in some of America’s most beloved performance venues. \n \nDaniel Miller and the High Life

SUMMARY:Jake Manzi-"Getting Somewhere" Release w/Erin Cassels Brown
DESCRIPTION:Jake Manzi returns to the Lizard Lounge to celebrate his latest release “Getting Somewhere” June 12th with special guest Erin Cassel Brown.\n\n\n$15/$20 Door \nDoors 7 \n  \nRaised in western MA and residing in Los Angeles\, Jake’s unique brand of folk rock has earned him significant acclaim\, sold-out hometown shows\, and opening slots for Dawes\, NRBQ\, Ron Sexsmith\, M. Ward\, Lori McKenna\, and more. \nAfter a decade of writing songs\, making records\, and touring across the country\, Manzi presents his third full-length record\, Getting Somewhere. Recorded mostly-live at Recorders in LA\, it’s a confident\, assured collection of no-frills Americana gems. \nGetting Somewhere sees Manzi at his best\, roadtipping through eleven songs that start in nostalgia and end up landing firmly in the present. “When you go\, the trouble begins\,” he sings\, heartsick\, in the first track. By the end of the record\, accompanied by whirling organ and distant\, roomy-sounding drums\, things have changed: “I’m finally waking up.” \nCo-produced with Gabriel Bernini\, the album favors an invisible approach to production: complete takes captured live and minimally dressed up with overdubs. The songs breathe\, and the performances speak for themselves. The result is vibrant and immediate\, closer to what it sounds like when Manzi takes the stage. \nWith driving piano that nods to Jackson Browne\, heartachey lap steel\, and the shimmer of glockenspiel recalling Springsteen’s most energetic moments\, Getting Somewhere takes us through winding roads with plenty of detours\, landing in a place of quiet confidence\, truehearted and speckled with delightful imperfections. \nJake is no stranger to collaboration. As part of a close-knit Italian family\, he grew up singing around the table after homemade dinners. During a two-month artist residency in France\, Manzi collaborated with guitarist (and Remi Wolf co-writer) Jack DeMeo. Together\, under the name The Breadwinners\, they released their first LP titled ‘Starter’ in February of 2026. DeMeo’s guitar and vocals appear on Getting Somewhere\, alongside keyboardist Eli Salus-Kleiner\, Tim Heidecker band lap and pedal steel player Connor “Catfish” Gallagher\, \nMikaela Davis’ bassist Shane McCarthy\, Charlie Faragher on drums\, and many more. It’s a lineup featuring old and new: longtime Massachusetts pals who also made the westward migration\, and new friends made in LA. \nWritten during a period of perpetual motion—bouncing from apartment to apartment\, undergoing sweeping growth both artistically and personally—Getting Somewhere is an LA record in spirit and sound\, with Manzi’s New England heart beating at its center. \n-Kimaya Diggs \n  \nJake Manzi \n\n\n“If you don’t already know Erin Cassels-Brown\, you should. He may just be your new favorite songwriter.” – (Brian Carroll\, Redline Roots)\n  \nErin Cassels-Brown is a songwriter\, carpenter\, and solar installer from Starksboro\, Vermont. Over the past decade he’s released music independently and performed in dive bars\, clubs\, and back yards while working in the building trades to help keep the lights on. He’s currently working on Count Us Lucky\, a record inspired by Addison County and the people who live there. You can find his music on streaming services and tour dates on his Instagram. \n  \nErin Cassels-Brown

SUMMARY:Club d'Elf feat Lyle Brewer and Mister Rourke Early Show
DESCRIPTION:Club d'Elf returns to the Lizard Lounge with special guests Lyle Brewer and Mister Rourke June 19th at 7:30!\n\n\nEvent is 21+ \n$30/$35 GA \n$90reserved table \nDoors 6:30 \nClub d’Elf returns to the Lizard Lounge June 19th for two shows! The line up for this show features Lyle Brewer (guitar)\, Mister Rourke (turntables)\, Paul Shulteis (Keys) Mike Rivard (bass & sintir) and Dean Johnston (drums). \nWhat begins as a groove in Club d’Elf’s world often becomes a doorway into someplace older\, stranger and unshackled by time. The band has spent twenty seven years helping audiences lose track of time with its shape-shifting fusion of Moroccan trance\, dub\, electronica\, jazz and improvised funk. Built around bassist and composer Mike Rivard\, each performance features a rotating cast drawn from Boston\, New York and beyond\, creating a constantly shifting ecosystem where trance forms the central core of the band’s aesthetic. Under the tutelage of longtime member and Casablanca native Brahim Fribgane\, the group absorbed Moroccan trance music deeply into its DNA. Fribgane passed away in early 2024\, but his spirit remains embedded in the band’s sound\, especially through Rivard’s commanding sintir work\, learned under the guidance of Fribgane and Gnawa masters Hassan Hakmoun and Mahmoud Guinia. \nTheir new album\, Loon and Thrush (released 4/10/26)\, recorded entirely live in the studio with minimal overdubs\, channels that lineage into a raw\, improvisatory flight. While largely built on Rivard originals\, the album continues the band’s tradition of honoring key influences\, offering Moroccan-infused takes on Grateful Dead classics “Bird Song” and “New Speedway Boogie.” The overarching theme of the record is“flight” itself—the avian imagery of the title track\, the Dead’s celestial wanderings\, and the enduring presence of Fribgane\, whose spirit continues to guide the music from beyond. \nhttps://clubdelf.com/

DESCRIPTION:The legendary Tarbox Ramblers original lineup and featuring Jim Fitting live at the Lizard Lounge June 20th!\n\n\n$20 adv/$25 door \n$60 Reserved Table for 2 \nDoors 7 \n \nThe Tarbox Ramblers’ sound is rooted in hillbilly music\, backwater blues and early rock ‘n’ roll. It’s rough-hewn\, dark and joyous\, and unfailingly direct. Previewing the band’s no-holds-barred live show\, The New Yorker said “Between the fiddle\, string bass\, drums and slide guitar\, you won’t know what hit you.” \nLed by songwriter Michael Tarbox\, the group also features violinist Daniel Kellar and the hard-hitting rhythm section of string-bassist Johnny Sciascia and drummer Jon Cohan Kellar’s mesmerizing solos\, and Tarbox’s barbed-wire guitar\, give the band its edge. The combination of Sciascia’s percussive rockabilly style and Cohan’s New Orleans parade drums is its secret sauce. The Ramblers will be joined by Jim Fitting of Treat Her Right\, The The and Session Americana fame on harmonica. \nThe Tarbox Ramblers have released two albums on the Rounder label\, played clubs and festivals throughout The US and Canada\, and worked with heroes like Robert Plant\, Allison Krauss and legendary producer Jim Dickinson. \nTarbox Ramblers

SUMMARY:Chandler Travis Philharmonic "Branches Out" Release w/Paulette Humanbeing
DESCRIPTION:Chandler Travis Philharmonic celebrate their latest release “Branches Out” with Paulette Humanbeing June 24th! \n\n\n\n\nThe Chandler Travis Philharmonic (and Three-O!) with special guest Paulette Humanbeing throw a pre-release parrty for Chandler’s first CD in 8 years\, “Branches Out”\, featuring CTP alumni Dinty Child\, Dave Harris\, Ken Field\, and Ramona Silver. \nChandler Travis Philharmonic \n\n\n\n\nPaulette Humanbeing is the greatest singer songwriter ever to exist in humankind. \nShe was born as a biological male in the late 60’s to Walt and Moira Nichols\, two bright eyed kids from the upper San Joaquin valley in California. Walt was the son of two Belarussian immigrants while Moira was the daughter of Irish people. Paulette was preceded in birth order by Joe and Anne\, both ginger-haired. \nPaulette grew up in Stockton\, California\, a port city in the San Joaquin delta. She grew up playing soccer\, making and flying remote control gliders\, drawing\, being a negligent pet owner to her parakeets\, chameleon\, alligator lizard and frog. She got her amateur radio license when she was in the third grade\, but she never used it to go on air. She had a paper route for a couple of years and used the money she made from that to go golfing and to buy a bike. She loved golfing at Swensen Park golf course in Stockton. It was a public course. She started taking piano lessons when she was 11 years old. Her teacher thought she might be a reincarnated bebopper because she made bebop melodies somewhat naturally. She played her brother’s records in High School. He had Pat Metheny’s As falls Wichita\, so falls Wichita falls\, Todd Rundgren’s back to the bars and others\, Emerson Lake and Palmer’s greatest hits. She started playing guitar when she was 16. She liked the Tubes a lot\, mostly the first and second albums. \nOne of her first songs was about wiping out while skiing and hurting her neck. It went\, “ouch my neck\, it hurts so badly\, not good at all\, could you fix it\, I need it by tomorrow\, so I can turn my head when they yell and scream and shout and wait for any utterance from Paul.” Her name was Paul at the time and she played the song for her music teacher. She sang “I want to be your dog” in the high school talent show her senior year with the impromptu band\, The Ugly Girls. \nPaulette had to face the reality of leaving home and living on her own\, but she wasn’t ready for that so she went to college for 7 years. She dropped in and out of college\, changing her major from engineering to English to music to English and finally to music. She found that whatever major she pursued\, she was still transgender. It just wouldn’t go away. \nShe got her first real job at a stock brokerage firm and worked there as a wire operator and ultimately an assistant trader She did that for 6 years\, using up a good deal of her money to pay a psychologist who thought she wasn’t really transgender\, that she was scarred by her environment. While working at the brokerage firm\, she played with a band of traders called Shiner. After the band was named\, one of the members cheated on his wife so she clocked him with a phone\, and he came to practice with a shiner. \nPaulette was wrongfully terminated and took time off to write because she wanted to be a writer. She tried to write fiction but ended up writing an album of songs entitled Rockridge about her neighborhood. During this time off\, she sublet an apartment in New York City for a couple of months. She ran into Lou Reed in her neighborhood café and told him that she had made her album\, Rockridge\, after hearing his album\, New York. He put his hand on her shoulder\, said “Great” and walked away.

SUMMARY:Blue Ribbons/The Powhida Infirmary
DESCRIPTION:The Blue Ribbons return to the Lizard Lounge with The Powhida Infirmary June 27th!\n\n\n$15/$20 \nDoors 7 \n \n“The Blue Ribbons’ latest album\, 2024’s “Forever\, But Not For Long\,” has plenty of pop hooks. Or rather\, it had plenty of them before the band took sledgehammers and scalpels to most of the pretty bits. \n“It took a while to get the bones of some of the tunes down just so we could break them\,” bandleader James Rohr told Herald with a laugh. \nLocal champs the Blue Ribbons are a pop band in the same way that the Beatles or Steely Dan or Television are pop bands in that they like pop but “aren’t too precious about the songs\,” Rohr said. \nJed Gottleib – Boston Herald \n \nThe Blue Ribbons \n \n\n\nJohn Powhida’s newest rock send-up The Powhida Infirmary includes fellow inpatients Mike Gent (The Figgs\, Graham Parker) on drums\, Rick Cohen (Brian Wilson Band) on keys\, and John Sheeran (Township\, Nat Freedberg) on bass. A fixture of Boston music since 2000\, Powhida is the erstwhile frontman for the beloved Rudds and the one-time pilot of the John Powhida Airport International. The Albany native has garnered several Boston Music Awards\, won the WBCN Rock ‘n Roll Rumble in 2011\, and has performed with Graham Parker\, Peter Wolf\, Todd Rundgren\, and the Nazz. The Infirmary is working on their forthcoming debut—due in the summer of 2026\, it’s a bit of an art-rock fever dream\, a little injection of disco-pop\, and anything but prescriptive. Whatever ails you\, the Infirmary will cure. \nPowhida Infirmary
