SUMMARY:Nick Prato/Nate Perry and Ragged Company/Breachway
DESCRIPTION:Nick Prato\, Nate Perry & Ragged Company and Breachway live at the Lizard Lounge July 10th at 8 pm\n\n\nEvent is 21+ \n$15/20 Door \nDoors at 7 \nNick Prato is a roots-driven indie rock artist based in Brooklyn\, NY. Enamored with the guitar from a very young age\, Nick draws much of his inspiration as a songwriter from his upbringing\, growing up the youngest of three boys in a small coastal Maine town. \nHis distinct sound is a fusion of indie rock\, folk\, and Americana\, shaped by the music that colored his youth and paired with a contemporary songwriting approach that reflects his perspective in today’s world. \nOn January 23\, 2026\, Nick released his debut full-length album Your Fight – a deeply personal record that explores themes of inner conflict\, emotional distance\, and the uneasey process of growing into adulthood. Written through periods of transition and self-reckoning\, the album captures moments of frustration\, vulnerability\, and resilliance\, offering an intimate look at the battles we fight and the ways we learn to move through them \nhttps://www.nickprato.com/ \n  \n\n\n“A Boston-based group that finds its inspiration from the rootsier end of the American music spectrum. Lining their work with acoustic guitars and bluesy riffs\, their work can also feel pretty anthemic and ready for a big crowd.” \n-Graeme Bentley\, Boston’s 92.5FM The River \n  \nAfter leaving the Army in 2018\, frontman Nate Perry returned to the Boston area with a new mission: to start a band. Stationed near Nashville\, Perry had initially focused on a military career\, but his time in Kentucky and Tennessee reignited his long-held passion for music. During his time off\, he immersed himself in Nashville’s live music scene\, captivated by the musicians on stage who were living the dream he longed to pursue. \nBack in Boston\, Nate soon connected with guitarist Mike Chandler\, a seasoned player whose previous band had recently disbanded. Together\, they began shaping a new musical direction. To complete the lineup\, they brought in drummer Sam Demello\, bassist Connor Milligan\, and keyboardist Ollie Nash. This collaboration birthed Nate Perry & Ragged Company\, a dynamic new force in the Americana-rock scene. \nSince forming\, Nate Perry & Ragged Company have been lighting up the Boston music scene and beyond\, playing shows that highlight their infectious songwriting and electric guitar-driven sound. In 2024\, they released their debut EP\, “The Otherside of Everything\,” which rapidly garnered over 10\,000 streams\, a testament to their growing popularity. \nNate Perry’s journey from the Army to concert stages is a testament to the power of finding and following one’s passion\, turning the muse of Nashville into the sounds of a rising Boston band. \n  \nNate Perry and the Ragged Company \n\n\nBreachway isthe musical project of Noah Barreto\, a Rhode Island-bred alt-country and indie-folk artist. Formerly a wild bird rehabilitator\, Barreto shifted to music full-time\, building a strong staple in the New England scene before expanding his project. \nBreachway

SUMMARY:The Wildwoods
DESCRIPTION:From the heart of Lincoln\, Nebraska\, The Wildwoods have grown into a folk/Americana trio rooted in rich harmonies and heartfelt storytelling\n\n\nDoors 7 \n \nThe Wildwoods\, hailing from Lincoln\, Nebraska\, continue to bring sonic beauty and simplicity to today’s increasingly complicated and cluttered musical landscape. With Dear Meadowlark\, the band’s fourth full-length album released on April 11\, 2025\, The Wildwoods have once again taken the hallmarks of the folk-Americana sound and dressed it in indie sensibilities a la heroes Nickel Creek and Gillian Welch as well as genre mainstays Bon Iver and Mumford & Sons. \nAnd yet\, at its core\, Dear Meadowlark is about three 20-something musicians celebrating the emotional allure of familiarity and comfort. “The main lyrical theme of the album is the appreciation for our home state of Nebraska and the homesickness that can come with long periods spent on the road\,” says Noah Gose. \nThe Wildwoods are Noah Gose on vocals\, acoustic and electric guitar; his wife\, Chloe Gose on vocals and violin; and longtime friend Andrew Vaggalis on vocals and upright bass. Their delicate embrace of the past\, present\, and future has transformed The Wildwoods into a potent entity. Recently\, The Wildwoods were finalists in the 2024 Rocky Mountain Songwriter Contest in Red Lodge\, Montana. In 2023\, the trio enjoyed being finalists in two high-profile band competitions – FreshGrass Music Festival and VHS “Gems in the Rough.” Also\, their songwriting strengths have been recognized by semi-final placements in the International Songwriting competition with tracks such as “Untitled” and “Way of Train.” \n“The Wildwoods I think inhabit their own unique shapeshifting genre. Their timeless Western sound somehow strikes a special musical place within a lot of us folks. That kind of music connects us through time & space.” \n— Cole Mitchek (Smallsongs)\, Americana Highways \nThe Wildwoods

SUMMARY:The Huntress and Holder of Hands/Wyn & The White Light
DESCRIPTION:The Huntress and Holder of Hands celebrate the release of their latest album "Babylon" with Wyn & The White Light July 17th!\n\n\n$20/$25 door \nDoors 7 \nThe Huntress and Holder of Hands phoenixed from the loss of songwriter MorganEve Swain’s husband and musical partner\, Dave Lamb (Brown Bird) in 2014 and has since evolved to encompass the anger\, hope\, despair and compassion of the greater good. Grief\, after all\, when shared\, becomes a unifying force. \nTen years after the band’s debut album\, Avalon\, The Huntress and Holder of Hands returns with Babylon. As the title suggests\, the collection grapples with corruption\, confusion and violence but also redemption\, hope\, and sanctuary. Songs like “Promethean”\, “Doctrine”\, “Beasts We Are” and “Ritual”\, ask questions of humanity—are we too late to change? Are we learning from our mistakes? Is this the world we want to leave behind? While other tracks— “Absence” and “Timbre Inaudible”—make it clear that Swain’s personal grief remains an active well. \nRecorded at Providence’s Machines With Magnets and Dirt Floor Studio in Middletown CT\, the album is heavier and fuller than its freshman effort\, employing Swain’s cousin Matt Swain (Two Feet) on drums\, as well as Death Vessel’s Joel Thibedau and Penn Sultan (Museum Legs\, Last Good Tooth) on percussion and atmosphere. Christopher Sadlers returns with dynamic electric bass—alternately sludgy\, distorted\, driving and supportive— while Liz Isenberg and Emily Dix Thomas provide swelling layers of cello\, bowed string bass and vocal harmonies. Tied together throughout with electric guitar\, violin and vocal lead by MorganEve Swain\, the result is a mature album full of urgency. \nBabylon also features songwriting from Emily Dix Thomas with “Rocky Coast” and a fully collaborative effort with “Desert Song”\, which was written and recorded as a pandemic Postal Service-style project between Swain\, Isenberg\, Sadlers\, Dix Thomas and former bandmate Rachel Blumberg and borrows words from the late Dave Noyes (Seekonk\, Rustic Overtones). Rounding out the album are the band’s live cover of Brown Bird’s “Bilgewater”\, and a final appeal to our wiser\, childlike selves with the at once sparce “Thunderstorm”\, whose ending harkens to composer Gavin Bryar’s “Sinking of the Titanic”. Will we let this ship go down too?  Will the empire fall? Or can we rewrite the story after all? \nWith grief as our teacher\, The Huntress and Holder of Hands’ Babylon\, implores us to consider our options. \nThe Huntress and the Holder of Hands \n\n\n\nWyn and the White Light is the pomegranate-infused haunted-soul-rock band led by two-time ‘Female Performer of the Year’ New England Music Award (NEMA) nominee Wyn Doran. Wyn is no stranger to the New England music scene\, receiving numerous NEMA nominations for her solo music\, opening for acts including Rhett Miller and Giant Rooks\, and working closely with Ben Folds at songwriting retreats. With the addition of Lucia Jean (bass/vocals) and Heidi Tierney (drums/vocals)\, Wyn has expanded into a new electric chapter with the White Light. The trio’s live act has taken flight: weaving primal\, haunting energy with “blackened\, burning candor (Deli Magazine)\,” and selling out numerous Boston shows in their first year. \nAll members of the band have faced their mortality in the wake of medical trauma\, uniting to lift the message of Wyn’s songs which confront the experience of living with chronic illness and strength found in adversity. The trio recorded their debut 10-song LP entitled ‘Luck” in 2023\, a journey through the divine feminine and near death experience. \nWyn & The White Light

SUMMARY:Hopeless Romantics/Gatch/LEYVA
DESCRIPTION:The Hopeless Romantics\, Gatch and LEYVA live at the Lizard Lounge July 24th!\n\n\n$15/$20 door \nDoors 7 \n \n The Hopeless Romantics are a Boston-based Pop Rock band delivering infectious melodies\, rich harmonies\, and undeniable energy. \n Fronted by Reid Kieper (lead vocals\, guitar) with Drew Leuci (lead guitar)\, Colin McNamara (bass)\, and Sean Smith (drums). We aim to craft original music that blends a raw do-it-yourself indie spirit with exciting radio-ready hooks. \nHopeless Romantics \n\n\nGatch is a singer\, songwriter\, and multi-instrumentalist from New England. He grew up at the mouth of the Long Island Sound\, staring out into the great beyond in anticipation of what would surely be a lifetime of adventure. \nThat sense of curiosity has always been part of his music. Growing up in southeastern Connecticut\, surrounded by maritime history and stories of people setting out into the unknown\, he was drawn to writers like Tolkien\, Robert Louis Stevenson\, and Jules Verne – artists who understood that searching for something can be just as important as finding it. \nMusic found him early. He started writing songs on the family piano as soon as he could talk\, and the guitar found him soon after. In middle school\, he met his long-time partner and band mate Aaron Lewis\, and they would go on to cut their teeth in Connecticut’s underground Chinese restaurant scene. Over the past two decades\, he has developed a cinematic sonic palate that pulls from a wide variety of influences from the world’s boundless repository of folk music to the top of the pops. His music is emotionally honest and difficult to categorize\, the kind that rewards the listener who stays. \nA two-time Boston Music Awards nominee\, he has been featured in The Boston Globe\, The Boston Herald\, and Vanyaland’s Top 20 Year-End list\, and has performed sold out shows across the Northeast. \nGatch

SUMMARY:Thalia Zedek/Sarah Borges/Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Thalia Zedek\, Sarah Borges and Field Day live at the Lizard Lounge July 31st at 8 pm.\n\n\n\nThalia Zedek is an artist of immutable stature and unceasing vitality. The legendary songwriter’s fiery voice and frank lyricism give her songs both their emotional potency and their stark beauty. Zedek is able to distill complex events into simple\, clear\, and at times monumentally weighty moments with a singular grace. Through ballads or bluster\, Zedek imbues her music with unguarded honesty. New album Perfect Vision examines the anxiety and pain of rising divisions between people both physical and ideological. On Perfect Vision\, Zedek transmutes fervor and resilience into sobering laments\, while her lush arrangements wrap the listener in an often complex emotional message. \nThalia Zedek \n\n\n\nOne way or another\, Sarah Borges connects with casual mastery. Whether it’s with the comrades she’s collaborated with over nearly 20 sparkling years of music-making\, or the vivid portraits of people’s lives – and occasionally her own – she’s sketched in scores of emotionally resonant songs. But most of all\, Borges has built a loyal following by connecting\, through her own charismatic\, down-to-earth spirit\, with her audience – whether they’re longtime fans from back when she broke through with her terrific “Silver City” debut in 2004\, or newcomers just now joining the party. \nhttps://sarahborges.com/ \n\n\n\nField Day formed proverbially\, in a basement\, and unexpectedly\, when its members were well into middle age. Joan Anderman was a neophyte\, having left her longtime post as rock critic at The Boston Globe and set out to become a songwriter. Her former Globe colleague Dan Zedek\, veteran of numerous college bands\, was sitting on a stash of songs written in his head while riding the train to work. The band’s original drummer John Kehe offered his gear-filled basement for weekend song circles. The chemistry was potent. These songs and these songwriters belonged together. With the addition of bassist Larla O’Halloran and drummer Chuck Hargreaves\, Field Day has become an unlikely upstart on the Boston club scene\, playing rock music with scrappy hooks\, dreamy harmonies\, and irrepressible spirit. \nField Day

SUMMARY:Say Zuzu/Matt Hebert and Haunt
DESCRIPTION:Say Zuzu live at the Lizard Lounge August 7th with Matt Hebert and the Haunt at 8 oclock!\n\n\n$20/$25 Door \nDoors 7 \nWhen we take advantage of the moment\, we live life to the fullest. Reverent of the past and excited for the future\, Say ZuZu makes the most of the present in their music. The New Hampshire six-piece—Cliff Murphy\, brothers Jon and James Nolan\, Steve Ruhm\, Tim Nylander\, and Jon Pistey—artfully thread together a reflective patchwork of folk\, rock\, alternative\, and country powered by lifelong friendships and a collective ambition to “carpe diem.” As such\, they sound as alive as ever on their seventh full-length offering and first original LP in 21 years\, the aptly titled No Time To Lose . \n“There’s too much to do\, and there’s no time to lose\,” observes Cliff. “Between music\, work\, parenting\, and whatever the rest of your day entails\, we’re in the rush hour of life right now. This was an incredible opportunity to make new music and be present again. We’re in a universe of people who have the rare privilege of making records and sharing them with the world. We don’t have the luxury of sitting on our hands. We’re in constant motion.” \n“In this phase of Say ZuZu\, we have an opportunity to step in the same river twice\,” adds Jon. “I’m in the current river with the wisdom of a late forty-something dude. I’m not going to tell you I’m fifty\, because I’m not. I’m hanging on brother\,” he laughs. \nThey dove headfirst into the river back in 1992. Jon\, James\, and Cliff bonded over the likes of Uncle Tupelo and Neil Young\, founding Say ZuZu and crafting a signature sound equally steeped in eloquent folk and gritty homegrown rock ‘n’ roll. They went on to build a cult audience by way of a series of fan favorite albums\, including Say ZuZu \, Highway Signs & Driving Songs \, Take These Turns \, Bull \, Live \, and Every Mile . Along the way\, they crisscrossed the country countless times in a converted school bus affectionately dubbed “The Bull\,” found success in Europe\, and lived through enough to inspire a lifetime of unforgettable memories. The group amicably split up during 2003. Over the next 16 years\, the guys started families (Jon has three kids and Cliff has four kids) and embarked on all manner of adventures. Cliff achieved a PhD in Ethnomusicology from Brown University\, Steve completed flight school\, Jon Pistey moved the family to Utah to run an Olympic ice rink\, Tim continued to tour. Jon opened up MIlltown Recording Company where he recorded and produced other artists for ten years\, while releasing two solo records of his own\, including When the Summers Lasted Long. Musical collaborations also happened intermittently. Jon mixed Cliff’s solo record Bay State Lullaby\, while Tim supplied drums as well. \n2019 saw the group perform a series of emotionally charged reunion shows to sold out audiences\, sowing the seeds for the future. \n“Suddenly\, we were in rooms full of people singing songs in a way they never had\,” smiles Jon. “Those experiences were really important.” \nDuring the COVID-19 Global Pandemic\, New West Records owner George Fontaine\, Sr. reached out to Jon and Cliff. As the story goes\, he nearly signed the band at the turn-of-the-century\, so you could call it “unfinished business.” Inking a deal with Fontaine’s Strolling Bones\, Say ZuZu commemorated its halcyon years with Here Again: A Retrospective (1994-2002) before recording No Time To Lose over the course of just ten days in December 2021. They channeled their original chemistry with the benefit of two decades of wisdom. \n“I began writing songs in a way and at a pace I hadn’t since my twenties\,” admits Cliff. “Being able to re-engage with Jon as a creative foil\, partner\, and co-editor was awesome.” \n \nSay Zuzu \n\n\nWorld-weary\, whiskey-soaked\, unbearably gorgeous and timeless. These are a few things that have been said about Matt Hebert and his numerous projects over the span of his career. Beginning with his Alt-Country act\, Ware River Club and later with the revolving outfit of Haunt\, Matt Hebert has released seven full-length albums\, including two under his own name. Hebert has shared the stage with many of his heroes\, including Emmylou Harris\, Bob Mould\, The Jayhawks\, Dave Alvin\, Ellis Paul\, Daniel Johnston\, Richard Buckner\, Freedy Johnston\, Tift Merritt\, and Anders Parker\, to name a few. Hebert’s songs have crossed over in other mediums\, with multiple placements including Drafthouse Films’ “Cheap Thrills” and the TV show “How I Met Your Mother”. Hebert wrote the musical score for “I’m Not Les: A Transgender Story”\, a PBS documentary released in 2012 by Daniel Kopec.Matt Hebert’s third solo release\, “Where The Heart Beats Slow” takes root from his move to Santa Fe in 2016. Relocating to an art-filled town filled with adobe homes on tiny\, crooked streets and awe-inspiring sunsets nestled in between mountains offered a chance to relax\, reset and rebuild life’s path; the seven songs on “Where the Heart Beats Slow” are the result. The title track sings “Honey come up to the peak and lay your heart in front of me/ Let’s go\, where the heart beats slow”\, illustrating a renewed outlook on relationships. The album is evocative of light and breezy summer days accompanied by cool\, desert nights. The introspective and emotional challenging lyrics lend to an unassuming dichotomy to the record’s 70’s AM radio influenced sound\, peppered with Moogs and angular guitars.Hebert brought longtime producer and collaborator\, Danny Bernini to record vocals and acoustic guitar in Hebert’s home studio in Santa Fe. Bernini followed up in Western Massachusetts\, overdubbing at Spirithouse Studios with an inspired group of creative players. Caleb and Jacob Rozazzo (Lux Deluxe) on Guitar and Bass\, Paul McNamara on Synths\, Miranda Brown (The New Pornographers) on Harmonies\, and Bernini\, himself\, on Drums.Back in Austin\, TX since September\, Hebert has formed an incredible line-up consisting of David Goodrich (Chris Smither\, Peter Mulvey\, Jeffery Foucault\, William Harries Graham) on Lead Guitar\, Seth Sherman (Tinnerose\, Seth Sherman) on Guitar/Vocals\, Joel Calvin on Drums and Greg Barclay on Bass/ Vocals (Oh No Oh My and Texas Never Whispers). The band has been playing local shows in Austin\, including successful shows for SXSW this past March and are preparing for regional\, Western Mass\, and Northeast release shows this upcoming mid-summer.\n\nMatt Hebert

SUMMARY:The Attractors-Loungin at the Lizard Lounge feat Juliet Hawkins
DESCRIPTION:The Attractors return to the Lizard Lounge August 14th featuring Juliet Hawkins!\n\n\n$20 adv/$25 door \nDoors 8 \n \nThe ATTRACTORS were created by Westbound Train trumpeter and Void Union co-founder RICH GRAIKO in 2011 as a way to pay homage to 1960’s era Jamaican and American instrumental groove music. \nFormerly the Brooklyn Attractors\, the group’s core line-up underwent a major change in 2017 when bandleader Rich Graiko made the move from New York\, back to his hometown of Boston. Despite this change the group continues to incorporate some of the top musicians in the Boston and New York reggae\, Ska and Jazz scenes\, on it’s recordings and live shows. \nJamaican percussion legend LARRY McDONALD (Bob Marley\, Taj Mahal\, Gil Scot Heron\, Lee Perry)\, guitarist ANDY BASSFORD (Toots & The Maytals\, Monty Alexander\, Burning Spear)\, Trombonist BUFORD O’SULLIVAN (easy Star Allstars\, Scofflaws) and Pianist Key Stewart (Skatallites\, Soulshot) are a few of the musicians who you might see playing with the group on a given night\, as well as the most recent iteration of the core line up: Bassist THADDEUS MERRITT (Westbound Train\, the Toasters)\, Drummer JESSE HAYES (Void Union\, the Toasters)\, Saxophonist JC SKA COHEN (Westbound Train\, Void Union) and Jazz Guitar extraordinaire CHRIS BROWN (Chris Brown quartet\, Metallica). \nThe group has released three full-length studio albums\, Good Evil Alchemy\, The Move\, and Love Bombs (Jump-Up Records)\, as well as one live album\, Live In NYC (Rarebreed Records)\, and are currently working on their fourth studio album. \n \nThe Attractors \n \n \n\n\nJuliet Hawkins\, a captivating vocalist and songwriter\, raised on the east coast and residing now in Peru\, Vermont\, has spent more than a decade honing her craft—intertwining her personal journey of pain\, pleasure\, and radical self-acceptance into her original music all across the United States. With a rich\, genre-bending style that encompasses RnB\, country\, swing\, and soul\, Juliet’s music resonates with a poetic and provocative allure\, encouraging listeners to embrace freedom of thought. Her voice\, as iconic as it is beautiful\, promises to never conform. After she cut her teeth in the world of songwriting and producing in Nashville\, TN for three years—playing some of Music Citys’ finest stages both solo and full band\, she felt called to the west coast for a more open minded\, culturally rich landscape. It was there that she put together another band\, co-produced multiple music videos\, NPR tiny desk submissions\, and wrote and released her dream live album\, “Stay True”\, co-producing with Grammy winning engineer\, Bob Tucker (Tupac\, The Temptations). She is known for captivating audiences with raw\, authentic live energy. Juliet’s repertoire includes reimagined classics like Ozzy Osbourne’s “Crazy Train” and The Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody”\, where her unique tone and approach breathe new life into familiar classics. Stay updated on Juliet’s latest creations and concerts by subscribing to her mailing list\, and don’t miss the opportunity to experience her remarkable talent firsthand. \n \nJuliet Hawkins

It was the beginning of the road back to finding his voice again. \nPlaying hotel bars and restaurants\, Brendan slowly felt his way back to the songwriter he had always been in his heart of hearts\, using his struggles to connect with an understanding audience. \nHis hard work paid off. In 2024\, Brendan was named a finalist in the New Hampshire Music Collective Songwriting Competition and invited to tour with legend Tom Rush across the United States. Brendan has also appeared on NHPR’s The Folk Show with Kate McNally\, and on WSCA’s The Button Factory Soundcheck. \nIn 2026\, Brendan Cleary is preparing to release his debut studio record\, Soundbox\, a folk-roots collection of songs that trace the long road through addiction\, recovery\, redemption\, and of course\, love. Produced by Carter Sanders\, the record gathers together years of hard-won writing — songs shaped on barroom stages\, open mics\, and late-night notebook pages. Soundbox offers an intimate portrait of a songwriter rediscovering his voice and carrying those stories forward to audiences who recognize pieces of their own lives in the music. \nBrendan Cleary \n\n\nRussell Jamie Johnson is a New York City–based singer-songwriter and actor crafting cinematic indie-folk songs that feel both timeless and intensely personal. Blending the emotional honesty of folk storytelling with sweeping Americana textures and alternative influences\, Johnson’s music lives in the aftermath of love\, memory\, and longing. His voice moves effortlessly between intimate vulnerability and raw intensity\, carried by fingerpicked guitars\, atmospheric arrangements\, and lyrics that read like scenes from a film. \nOriginally from Linton\, Indiana\, Johnson discovered music at a young age before eventually studying songwriting at Berklee College of Music. After relocating to New York\, he continued developing his sound while expanding into acting\, bringing a deeply visual and emotional sensibility into his songwriting and live performances. \nOnstage\, Johnson creates an experience that feels immersive and deeply human—moving from quiet\, confessional moments to soaring emotional releases that pull audiences directly into the world of each song. His performances are marked by an authenticity that makes even the largest room feel personal. \nHis upcoming self-titled album\, Russell Jamie Johnson\, is his most fully realized work to date: a heartbreak-driven collection of songs exploring love\, loss\, nostalgia\, and the versions of ourselves we leave behind. \nRussell Jamie Johnson
