He started playing drums at the age of 4 years old. Being surrounded by music at home and in church\, Imad became passionate about music. He kick started his music career after winning the Umass Amherst Jazz Festival for “ Best Jazz Trio” and opening for the Chris Potter Quartet. Imad Coulibaly currently plays in his jazz/fusion hip hop group Soul Space. He is also a live/session and touring drummer working with artists such as Rugawd\, Martin Gonzalez\, David Mrakpor\, King Chino\, Dave Powell\, Rob Araujo and Vooo. Imad’s primary focus is on live/session and touring gigs as well as education in music to inspire drummers of all ages and backgrounds. \n \n\n\nIshan is a Boston-based artist with a constantly growing style of his own. He is heavily influenced by the golden era of Hip Hop music and the pioneers of this game. At 23\, he delivers his message through a trademark lyrically inclined style\, which rivals the greats. From his beat selection to his intricate wordplay\, this young rapper comes off as a seasoned vet. Ishan maintains a growing music career that entails writing\, recording\, and producing all of his music. He possesses the characteristics of an artist who can transcend musical genres with his trademark flows. Ishan will be around for a long time.

Like a chef\, she selects each art ingredient to bring out the best in the others. She was born and raised in Boston into a Black family of performing and visual artists. \nPerformances & Exhibits include: The Museum of Fine Arts\, Boston\, The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum\, VerBaLizAtiOn\, Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam\, Stone Soup Poetry\, the Massachusetts State House and AAMARP. She is a recipient of Certificates of Special Recognition from the Governors of Massachusetts and Rhode Island for her Service in the Arts. \nShe is a channel in her Music and Poetry creation. Songs and poems come to her while dreaming\, cooking and painting. They mirror her values of self-love\, happiness and empowerment. She mixes funk\, jazz\, hip-hop\, gospel\, African\, house music and more. Her dreamy harp music is very soothing and calming for a society that’s in high stress mode. She released her first album of spoken word poetry\, “Breaking It Down”\, in 2014 and her 2nd album\, “PERSISTENCE” in 2023. \nRadiant Jasmin builds art programs\, teaching performance and visual art to children\, teens and adults using fun ways to link art with preventative healthcare\, literacy\, science\, math and Black History for a balanced educational experience and to facilitate healing from trauma. \nSharing these gifts is her contribution to uplifting the world!

Lauded for her “beautiful balladry” by Rolling Stone (2022)\, Julia’s soothing\, honeyed voice and quirky personality offer a refreshing\, vibrant contrast to the bittersweet honesty of her lyrics. \nCrystal Rose\, a dynamic artist from Kansas City\, is blazing a trail in Nashville’s music scene with her genre-blending sound and emotionally charged lyrics that feel like stolen glimpses into her diary. Crystal’s magnetic presence has garnered support from all corners. She’s shared stages with Jess Nolan\, Medium Build\, Alice Merton\, Trombone Shorty and more.  \nChris Walton is a singer/songwriter/producer based just outside Boston. Inspired by the likes of Stevie Wonder\, early John Mayer\, and Cory Wong\, Chris creates smooth\, jazz kissed songs that tug at your heartstrings but still make you want to groove. She was on the Lizard Lounge Slam Team for three consecutive years. During that time\, she performed with them regionally as well as traveled to Nationals in Atlanta\, Denver\, and Chicago. In addition she has been a feature poet at Lizard Lounge\, Hale Education\, and Stone Soup poetry\, as well as a guest on Smokin’ Rhymes and the Boston Stoops podcast. \nGrowing up\, she was an avid writer and reader\, as well as ran a traveling summer Shakespeare troupe. Today\, she spends her days working with host families of international students and spends her nights enjoying art in all its forms.

SESSION AMERICANA with Eleanor Buckland will once again call The Lizard Lounge home for four consecutive nights this November 19-22 \nFor the uninitiated SESSION AMERICANA is a cast of top-shelf players\, singers\, and writers who tour internationally\, taking their own songs\, plus hundreds more from the American songbook\, on the road. Whether you catch Session Americana in a rock hall or on a festival stage\, you’ll be a part of the intimate\, raucous scene these players built years ago at Toad\, the neighborhood bar where it all began in Cambridge\, Massachusetts. Looking back\, the group has had a natural\, almost inevitable evolution from a loose bunch of friends sitting around swapping songs in a bar\, to a hot-ticket weekly residency\, to a touring collective. Along the way\, the band has made nine records (so far)\, played clubs and festivals across the U.S. and Europe\, and developed deep collaborative bonds with a wide community of musicians. Exploring the vast musical traditions of New Orleans and expanding their repertoire to look beyond NOLA jazz\, the band performs traditional Caribbean tunes (it’s been said that New Orleans is the northernmost city in the Caribbean)\, as well as Meters funk\, soul\, and brass band / street beat music. \nThe latest record captures the 7-piece band’s mission of embracing tradition without becoming a museum piece. The band features Avi Salloway (Bombino/Hey Mama) joined by an inspired cast of singular artists who have performed across five continents including concerts at Coachella\, Newport Folk Festival\, New Orleans Jazz Fest\, Montreal Jazz Fest\, Carnegie Hall\, and Lincoln Center. \nBilly Wylder released their seminal third album\, Trying to Get Free (Sand & Gold Records)\, on August 25\, 2023. The music weaves together American folk and rock with sensibilities from the Sahara Desert\, exploring new musical space akin to Devendra Banhart\, Beck\, and Tinariwen. Billy Wylder’s new recordings evoke musical evolutions built on grooves informed by ancient African rhythms\, art-rock textures\, expansive guitars\, violins\, synths\, and drum machines.
