She was recently selected as a featured exhibitor at MassCreative’s Creative Sector Day at the Statehouse. Her artwork has been featured on GBH’s Community Canvas\, at Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt)\, Hopkinton Center for the Arts\, Framingham City Hall\, TILL Wave Gallery\, and Marlborough Makers. Her poetry appears in the Town of Franklin’s Healing Word Public Art Project\, Art on the Trails in Southborough\, and the Solitude\, Community\, Hope anthology in Framingham. DESCRIPTION:Jake Manzi returns to the Lizard Lounge to celebrate his latest release “Getting Somewhere” June 12th with special guest Erin Cassel Brown.\n\n\n$15/$20 Door \nDoors 7 \n  \nRaised in western MA and residing in Los Angeles\, Jake’s unique brand of folk rock has earned him significant acclaim\, sold-out hometown shows\, and opening slots for Dawes\, NRBQ\, Ron Sexsmith\, M. Ward\, Lori McKenna\, and more. \nAfter a decade of writing songs\, making records\, and touring across the country\, Manzi presents his third full-length record\, Getting Somewhere. Recorded mostly-live at Recorders in LA\, it’s a confident\, assured collection of no-frills Americana gems. \nGetting Somewhere sees Manzi at his best\, roadtipping through eleven songs that start in nostalgia and end up landing firmly in the present. “When you go\, the trouble begins\,” he sings\, heartsick\, in the first track. By the end of the record\, accompanied by whirling organ and distant\, roomy-sounding drums\, things have changed: “I’m finally waking up.” \nCo-produced with Gabriel Bernini\, the album favors an invisible approach to production: complete takes captured live and minimally dressed up with overdubs. The songs breathe\, and the performances speak for themselves. The result is vibrant and immediate\, closer to what it sounds like when Manzi takes the stage. \nWith driving piano that nods to Jackson Browne\, heartachey lap steel\, and the shimmer of glockenspiel recalling Springsteen’s most energetic moments\, Getting Somewhere takes us through winding roads with plenty of detours\, landing in a place of quiet confidence\, truehearted and speckled with delightful imperfections. \nJake is no stranger to collaboration. As part of a close-knit Italian family\, he grew up singing around the table after homemade dinners. Together\, under the name The Breadwinners\, they released their first LP titled ‘Starter’ in February of 2026. DESCRIPTION:The Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam with featured poet Baub Bidon June 14th!\n\n\n$10 \nBaub (pronounced “Bawb”) Bidon is a Haitian/African American poet\, actor\, writer\, and playwright whose work fuses hip hop\, jazz\, and blues into a distinct\, soul-driven voice. Influenced by Gil Scott-Heron\, Saul Williams\, Ngoma\, and Langston Hughes\, his performances bridge tradition and modern expression. \nHe is the founder of Free 2 Spit (est. 2004)\, a New Haven-based open mic and creative hub now spanning over two decades—recognized as one of Connecticut’s longest-running poetry venues. Through his platform\, performances\, and curation\, Bidon has helped shape and inspire a generation of poets across Connecticut and beyond. \nHis recent work includes The George Stinney Project (2023)\, in collaboration with Jacque’s Bidon and Marcos A. Williams. He is also a member of Reciprocity Rhode Island. \nBidon’s credits span film\, theatre\, and performance\, including appearances in Resurrection\, Another Earth\, King Lear\, and Jesus Hops the A Train. His work continues to live at the intersection of culture\, storytelling\, and lived experience.
