SUMMARY:Four Piece Suit/Fran McConville Trio
DESCRIPTION:Four Piece Suit returns to the Lizard Lounge with Fran McConville trio March 19th!\n\n\nEvent is 21+ \n$11/$14 door \nDoors at 7 \nFour Piece Suit is “a highball of sea-foam-soaked guitar and squalling tenor sax\, shaken—not stirred—with surf tangos\, Battista-era mambos\, beach blanket boppers\, spy music\, crime jazz\, and movie themes.” The predominantly instrumental group brings humor\, romance and a pulsing rhythm to the category-defying range musical styles they reinvent. Heard on soundtracks for Sex and the City and Dexter\, Four Piece Suit puts on a sizzling live show. \nThe band is:David Becker-bass\, Jeff Giacomelli-sax\, Seth Pappas-drums\, Milt Reder-guitar. For more on 4PS\, please visit www.fourpiecesuit.com. Truly beyond category\, their eclectic instrumental\, sometimes jazz\, sometimes rock style\, brings forth a unique blend of long forgotten musical influences and often suggests a certain film noir feeling. \nThe sexy\, sophisticated\, yet tongue-in-cheek music of FOUR PIECE SUIT is frequently featured on the highly acclaimed HBO series Sex and the City\, Telemundo\, NBC’s Ed\, Dexter on CBS\, and cable shows such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians\, America’s Top Model\, Run’s House\, and many others. Film work includes Our Lips are Sealed (Olsen Twins)\, In the Weeds (Molly Ringwald)\, Stag (HBO films)\, Psycho Beach Party\, Along Came Polly (Jennifer Aniston)\, and others. \nThe band has also been heard in many independent films\, including Sundance Festival Winner Blue Vinyl. They have also done a full score for an HBO claymation film\, Real Men Wear Hawaiian Shirts\, an award winner at the San Francisco Film Festival. \nLike many of the greatest bands\, only at a live show can one really “get” what FOUR PIECE SUIT is all about… \nhttps://fourpiecesuitband.com \n\n\nThe Fran McConville Trio plays an eclectic\, cosmic blend of instrumental rock\, groove & reggae music. We like to get weird and play in odd time signatures\, go to outer space\, and come back again. Members of the FMT have played with Lions At The Gate\, Lady Lupine\, Ethan Rossiter Band\, Sonya Rae Taylor\, and others! \n \nSome artists that have had a big influence are The Beatles\, Miles Davis\, Jimi Hendrix\, John Scofield\, Jeff Beck\, Jerry Garcia\, Bela Fleck\, & MMW.

SUMMARY:Mark Lipman "Mosaic Things" Release With Special Guest Samantha Farrell
DESCRIPTION:Singer Songwriter Mark Lipman celebrates the release of “Mosaic Things” March 20th at the Lizard Lounge with Samantha Farrell!\n\n\n$20/$25 door \n$50 Reserved Table For 2 \nDoors at 7 \nMark Lipman’s profoundly rich and tender vocals may be the first thing to grab you\, but his mix of soberingly honest and dream-inspired lyrics will keep you returning for more. A Boston local\, he has been exploring the power of songwriting and performance for decades in the Cambridge/Somerville scene\, notably performing regularly at the esteemed Club Passim\, among other local venues. His 2022 release The Glimmer\, co-produced with Dave Brophy\, has been described as “a beautiful piece of art…so very strong and inspiring\,” (James Rohr of The Blue Ribbons). An album about reclaiming the story of his mental health apart from the pathological lens of Western psychiatry\, he exhibits a zeal for storytelling and healing that is unique and impactful. His newest release Mosaic Things (January 2026) brings language to the complex and under-explored terrain of masculinity at large and relationships between men (queer and straight) from the perspective of a gay man. The organic and powerful songs offer a poignant look into the intersection of historical trauma\, longing\, queer joy\, and co-liberation. Join Mark and his band (and special guests) to celebrate the release of Mosaic Things at the Lizard Lounge March 20th. \nMark Lipman \n\n\nSamantha Farrell is a Boston-based musician and vocalist whose sound is a gorgeously moody fusion of jazz\, alt R&B and pop. Once described as “the best singer-songwriter you’ve never heard of\,” by NBC Los Angeles\, Farrell has always been understated in her approach to her music career – but\, those who are in the know\, have been quietly dazzled with her unique voice\, rhythmic subtleties and tonal nuance for years. \nSamantha started her career in Los Angeles where she released her first album “Spiritus.” In 2008\, she caught the ear of LeRoi Moore\, the saxophonist of the Dave Matthews Band\, who was in the midst of producing and developing her next album in Charlottesville\, VA when he suddenly passed away\, and in October 2009\, “Luminous” was independently released. Through word of mouth alone\, the album charted No. 7 on the national pop iTunes charts. She has since followed that up with two EPs\, “In Between Stories” (2010) and “Softly Swooning World” (2013)\, with her latest album\, “September Sun” (2016) being voted as one of WUMB radio’s Top 10 albums of 2016. \n \nSamantha Farrell

SUMMARY:Ohm Foam with Tequila Sirens and Dolata!
DESCRIPTION:Get ready for a wild night of music and mayhem with Ohm Foam’s featuring the electrifying Tequila Sirens and Dolata!\n\n\nDoors 7 \n$20/$25 door \nOhm Foam is instrumental psych rock from the depths of space\, channeled through three humans from earth: Charlie Gargano (guitar)\, Renee Goudreau (bass)\, and Billy Leva (drums). The trio combines cosmic guitar melodies with mountain-quaking bass and drum grooves\, and integrates significant improvisation into their song structures. “Their music ranges from heavy progressive rock to chill\, groovy psychedelic\, and they list Khruangbin\, early Pink Floyd\, and Radiohead as influences. With hard rock-inspired riffs and expansive soundscapes constructed from guitar loops\, Ohm Foam’s music invites you to climb aboard and hang on for the journey.” – Jeff Williams\, Sound of Boston \n \nOhm Foam \n\n\nTequila Sirens formed in Somerville\, Massachusetts when Shaun Curran (keys\, vocals) and former Soft Pyramids frontman Dwight Hutchenson (guitar\, vocals) began collaborating remotely during the Covid lockdown. What started as a creative outlet during a difficult period eventually grew into a full band with the addition of Whit Love (bass) and Matt Masuzzo (drums). \nDrawing from a wide range of musical influences\, Tequila Sirens creates a sound built around organ\, guitars\, and electronic percussion. Their music balances memorable melodies with sonic textures that invite repeated listening\, with a direct and honest approach to songcraft. \nTequila Sirens \n\n\nDolata plays laid-back\, riff-based indie rock tunes downloaded directly from the void via The Great Chisel. Formed by Madi Donlan (Hubie Halloween) and Joe Froeber (The Drunk Monkeys) in 2024\, Amelia Allison (Mollie Guac) and Reilly Somach (The Rupert Selection) soon followed\, and the rest as they say is still unwritten (Natasha Bedingfield). Heralded as “a band on the rise” by internal pool\, they seek to find the cosmic traitor Ali Dolat and bring him to justice one day. Their debut EP drops May 30th at midnight. \nDolata

SUMMARY:Miss Tess Live at the Lizard Lounge
DESCRIPTION:Miss Tess returns to the Lizard Lounge March 26th!\n\n\n$20/$25 GA \n$60 Reserved Table \nDoors at 7 \n \nMiss Tess is one of those singular artists who deserve all the superlatives and accolades one could hoist upon a rare talent such as hers. This unassuming chanteuse is\, as they say in the business\, a true “triple threat” – a superb songwriter and adept multi-instrumentalist with an extraordinary voice that can sing the birds from the trees. \nHer music takes root and draws from an era when country music\, contrary to popular belief\, was downright sophisticated\, and filled with instrumentalists who were every bit as hip musically as their jazz counterparts – stretching back to a time when Western swing bands and jazz bands played a lot of the same material – albeit with a different accent\, informed by their physical location. Location has a lot to do with the new Miss Tess album\, but I’ll get to that in a minute. I would like to stress here that Miss Tess is not necessarily a “country” artist per se\, although if she were invited to play the Grand Ole Opry\, she would not be out of place\, and would no doubt be very well received. Country Soul might be a better descriptor if I was forced to label it\, but her music also has elements of rhythm and blues\, jazz\, country blues\, rock n’ roll – but never manufactured to re-create a particular sound or era. I’m tempted to call this new Miss Tess album “easy listening” except she’d probably slap me. But damn\, it really is so easy to listen to: laid back\, soulful\, funky\, and addictive … much like the place it was recorded in and inspired by. \nThe new Miss Tess album – Cher Rêve – out Feb 7\, 2025 is the product of an on-going love affair with the culturally rich region of South Louisiana known as Acadiana\, or more specifically\, the magical little city of Lafayette. If New Orleans is the “Big Easy\,” then Lafayette is certainly the “Little Easier.” It is hard to describe this sleepy little town unless you’ve been here and experienced its infectious atmosphere for yourself. It may not be for everyone\, but if you are of a certain disposition\, it could affect you in ways you might not have imagined – it might even change your life. \n \nMiss Tess
