Photocomfort

Photocomfort is the platform for Boston-based artist Justine Bowe’s careful, expansive pop. Photocomfort is the distillation of the exacting songwriting, production and performance craftsmanship she lends to other recording projects like Hex Girlfriend, Anjimile, and Cliff Notez. She borrows as much from 90’s radio heroes like Alanis Morissette and Dido as from Radiohead and Solange Knowles. Huge vocal hooks soar over nimble arrangements, presenting the self-doubt and isolation born from the pursuit of “the dream” of being an artist as harrowing, irresistible and irresistibly catchy. Stepping away from moody and humorous self-reflections, her upcoming album, “Patron Saint,” is a collection of platonic love songs. With pedal steels lending color to electronic and acoustic elements, live performance, and rich atmosphere, each of “Patron Saint’s” songs feature a crystal-clear portrait of a dear friend, many of whom feature her in their own musical projects and whose relationships and collaboration you can track through their published music. The songs, which could easily be at home in both jazz songbooks and folk clubs, deliver all the promise, care, and color true platonic love deserves.

Karim is a self taught multidisciplinary artist. The 28 year old Boston native began his creative journey taking on roles in his high school’s musicals and has since found his own musical style, influenced by R&B, soul, jazz, gospel, and classical. In 2014, he began producing beats on his phone and recorded his first feature. In 2016, he released his first solo track, “FYA” and began performing live at local events and open mics. In 2019, he released his first EP, “Huemanity,” which blends elements of neo-soul, indie pop, and alternative rock. Karim is also in a rap/sung duo, Da Grüvement, alongside his musical partner, Mos Generous, AKA Mos. Karim has backed Najee Janey for Boston Calling and headlined a concert at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. He is currently gearing up to release his 3rd body of work.

Notebook P is a singer/songwriter based in Randolph, MA. His influences revolve around love, life and loss, driven primarily by R&B and occasional anime references. Some of his catalog includes the EP, “I Made This, For You”, with producer Humbeats, “A Fool’s Paradise”, and has even been named the “R&B Artist of the Year” for the 2021 Boston Music Awards. P hopes to contribute to the ever changing landscape of music with a unique but relatable pen.
